StudyDeck

Privacy Policy

Last updated: February 28, 2026

Overview

StudyDeck is designed with privacy as a core principle. The platform operates entirely within your web browser and does not collect, store, or transmit personal data to any external servers. This privacy policy explains how data is handled when you use StudyDeck.

Data We Collect

We do not collect any personal data. StudyDeck does not require registration, login, or any form of personal information to use.

Local Data Storage

StudyDeck stores the following data locally in your browser using the Web Storage API (localStorage):

  • Study progress: Quiz scores, flashcard review history, spaced repetition states, topic mastery percentages, study time, and streak data
  • Active session data: Current quiz session state (cleared when a quiz is completed or abandoned)
  • User preferences: Theme settings (light/dark mode)

This data never leaves your device. It is not sent to any server, analytics service, or third party. Clearing your browser data or using the "Reset All Progress" feature will permanently delete this data.

Cookies

StudyDeck does not use cookies. The platform uses localStorage for all client-side data persistence.

Analytics and Tracking

StudyDeck does not use any analytics, tracking, or telemetry services. We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any other tracking tools. Your study activity is completely private.

Third-Party Services

StudyDeck uses the following third-party services for functionality:

  • Vercel: Hosting and content delivery. Vercel may collect standard web server logs (IP addresses, request timestamps). See Vercel's Privacy Policy.
  • PeerJS (Co-Quiz only): If you use the Co-Quiz feature, a signaling server facilitates the initial peer-to-peer connection. Once connected, data flows directly between peers. No quiz data passes through the signaling server.
  • Unsplash: Images on certain pages are loaded from Unsplash. Unsplash may collect standard access logs. See Unsplash's Privacy Policy.

Data Export and Deletion

You have full control over your data:

  • Export: You can export all your progress data as a JSON file from the Progress page at any time.
  • Import: You can import previously exported progress data to restore your study history.
  • Delete: You can delete all stored data using the "Reset All Progress" button on the Progress page, or by clearing your browser's localStorage.

Children's Privacy

StudyDeck does not knowingly collect any information from children. Since the Service does not collect personal data from any users, there is no risk of inadvertent collection of children's data.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Since we do not collect email addresses, we cannot notify users directly of changes.
